New investment

When buying into a fund, the fund groups will charge an 'initial charge' at entry - these are generally in the region of 5%. This charge will be a percentage of the total amount you invest in that particular fund.

Because of our long standing relationships with the fund groups, we have managed to negotiate special terms on most of the funds available on the Funds Network platform and most funds can be accessed with a reduced initial charge of 1% through Whitechurch Securities.

If we have negotiated special terms whereby the discounted charge is less than 1% at entry then Whitechurch will retain the difference as our commission. For example, if we have negotiated with a fund group an initial charge of 0.5%, we will take 0.5% as commission. Therefore, the total initial charge to you will be 1% - see example 1 in the table below.

However, if we have negotiated an initial charge of 1% with the fund group - we will take nothing as commission - see example 2 in the table below.

Finally, if we are unable to negotiate a reduced initial charge of 1% or less, then you will be charged the amount that we have managed to negotiate instead. For instance, if we have negotiated an initial charge of just 1.5% with a fund group then this is the initial charge that you will incur and we will receive no commission - see example 3 in the table below.

Our initial charges for the investment in or outside of and ISA will generally be the same, however, some fund groups levy different charges per product and/or fund.

In addition to the initial charge, funds carry annual management charges - these are generally in the region of 1.5% - which are deducted automatically from your investment on an annual basis. We are unable to reduce these annual management charges.

Switching funds

Once you are a FundsNetwork/Whitechurch customer you can switch the funds that you hold as often as you like, when you like. For fund switching on the platform a specially reduced initial charge of 0.25% is available on many funds - or 0% should you switch into a fund that has no initial charge.
